The Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti community has benefited greatly from the local colleges and universities providing path to developing job skills and career paths.
While WCC has never had any formal programs to support recovering people, there has always been a critical mass of recovering people to engage others into school and provide support while they are there.
UM’s Students for Recovery student organization was formed in 2009 and has led to a similar student organization at EMU as well as a funded university program at UM.
College students should not have to sacrifice college for their recovery, or recovery for college.
