The Ann Arbor area has several public school systems that frequently invite treatment and recovery programs to meet with students.

It’s important to note that these visits do not emphasize “scared straight” messages. Rather, they educate students about addiction and recovery.

One of the goals is to normalize recovery so that students who experience substance use problems (or have friends experiencing problems) know that there is a hopeful, healing, and growth-fostering community ready to accept and support them.
